Stable Creations
My name is Will Starr and I’m the owner of Stable Creations. My wife, Penny,and I live just outside of Merrickville, Ontario. We spend most of our time riding and taking care of our horses. I have always been interested in creating things out of wood. When I was quite young I would build small boats and float them down a creek next to where I lived. I’m sure some of them made it to Lake Ontario. When my children arrived I would build rocking horses. When my grandchildren arrived I built mobiles with farm animals made out of wood and continued to build rocking horses but also John Deere tractors, fire engines, trains, planes and jewelry boxes. Most of my projects were made using a scroll saw. When I retired I started building benches, mainly to be given away as wedding presents. I have developed a real love of horses and most of my scroll saw art is devoted to capturing them in wood. Recently, I have discovered the art of converting photos of animals and people to scroll art. I use locally sourced Eastern White Cedar. I hope you enjoy my artwork.
